04:08 AM EDT, 09/10/2026 (MT Newswires) -- IBM (IBM) and Lockheed Martin (LMT) said Thursday that they have established a hub for quantum computing at Switzerland's ETH Zurich university. The new hub is slated to host Switzerland's first IBM Quantum System Two computer at the Swiss National Supercomputing Center, but will also be connected by internet to other IBM quantum computers. ETH Zurich will provide expertise, resources and technologies for Swiss industries, startups and academia wanting to take advantage of the quantum computer hub. The new computer facility will also advance a strategic collaboration between Lockheed Martin and IBM, combining the aerospace-defense contractor's innovations in quantum sensing and additive manufacturing with IBM's expertise in quantum computing and AI, said IBM and Lockheed Martin.
