* IG GROUP: Britain's IG Group IGG.L has told staff that a significant number of jobs would be cut as part of a reorganisation aimed at improving efficiency, Sky News reported.

* HOUSING: A slowdown in Britain's housing market appears to be levelling off as measures of buyer demand and agreed sales moved away from recent lows, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors said.
* OIL: Oil prices dipped but Brent crude remained above $100 a barrel as traders braced for deeper supply disruptions after Iran and the United States launched their largest attacks on shipping since their six-month-old conflict began.
* GOLD: Gold inched higher, helped by a softer dollar, while market participants awaited key U.S. inflation data that could shape the Federal Reserve's interest-rate path.
* METALS: Copper hovered near record levels, with scarce deliverable metal in markets outside the United States continuing to underpin prices.
* EX-DIVS: Prudential PRU.L, M&G MNG.L, and Lion Finance BGEO.L will trade without entitlement to their latest dividend pay-outs on Thursday.
