Strong 10-Year Note Auction Eases Pressure on Bonds -- WSJ

A strong auction of 10-year U.S. Treasury notes has provided some afternoon relief to the bond market.
Treasury yields, which move inversely to bond prices, retraced some earlier gains after the $39-billion auction met with solid demand from investors. The 10-year notes were sold at a 4.834% yield, below what traders were anticipating heading into the auction. In another sign of good demand, banks that are required to bid took down a smaller portion of the auction than the recent average.
The yield on the 10-year note was recently 4.835%, according to Tradeweb, still up on the day but down from 4.853% earlier in the session.
