A Gibraltar-flagged product tanker suffered a serious accident at the Dubai anchorage, resulting in the death of one sailor and another crew member missing; all other personnel have been safely accounted for.
The vessel’s charterer has confirmed the casualties but has not disclosed the specific cause of the accident. At present, professional search-and-rescue teams are making every effort to locate the missing crew member.
According to a preliminary safety assessment, the incident may involve a drone attack, raising market concerns over the worsening shipping security situation in the Gulf region.
