Eldorado Gold Produces First Copper-Gold Concentrate at Greek Mine

04:08 AM EDT, 09/09/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Eldorado Gold (EGO) reported on Tuesday that it has produced its first copper-gold concentrate at its Skouries Project in northern Greece, a step towards to the commercial production at the mine anticipated in Q4. Copper-gold concentrate is a rock powder mixture rich in copper, sulfide minerals and gold created by the crushing, grinding and other treatment of ore. Eldorado said the first concentrate was produced Sept. 8 following the introduction of the first ore to the crusher in July. The ore stockpile at Skouries Project exceeds 4.6 million tons of above-reserve grade, providing a foundation for ramp-up and more than seven months of processing and concentrate production. The Skouries Project is expected to produce 140,000 ounces of gold and 67 million pounds of copper annually, over the life of the mine, Eldorado Gold said.
