This Expert Says Ripple CEO Just Revealed XRP’s True Customer
Versan Aljarrah, founder of Black Swan Capitalist, read what Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse said about central banks and reached a notable conclusion.
He identified central banks as the major customers for XRP’s core function, describing the asset as inventory built to store and move value instantly, worldwide, at near-zero cost.
That post did not arrive without context. Garlinghouse had laid out the problem in specific terms. The Central Bank of the Netherlands spent months relocating $11 billion in gold from New York to London. About 70% of it never physically moved. The bank sold the gold in New York and repurchased it in London.
Germany once took four years to move 674 tons of gold worth $36 billion from vaults in Paris and New York. Garlinghouse described institutions as “still moving value the way they did in the 1940s” and described their continued reliance on legacy infrastructure as “confounding.”
Aljarrah’s Earlier Position
This is not the first time Aljarrah has placed central banks at the center of the XRP thesis. He previously posted that central banks “are working with Ripple to redefine global finance by harnessing the power of XRP in cross-border value transfer.” He called XRP “the ultimate powerhouse in the world of finance.”
His new post builds directly on that claim. Garlinghouse gave him the evidence. Aljarrah drew the line from the problem to the institution facing it, and then to the asset he believes solves it.
XRP as a Solution
The XRP Ledger processes cross-border value transfer in under 5 seconds. Tokenized gold on the ledger settles on-chain while the gold stays in the vault. Ownership transfers without physical logistics, coordination delays, or settlement lag.
Garlinghouse noted that crypto grew from a $1.5 billion experiment to a $2.7 trillion asset class while central banks continued operating on decades-old systems. The XRP Ledger exists as an alternative to those systems.
The Argument Aljarrah Is Making
Aljarrah has consistently argued that XRP holds a structural role in global finance. His earlier claim placed XRP inside active institutional engagement with Ripple. His newest post takes Garlinghouse’s public commentary and uses it to define the customer, the function, and the asset.
Central banks move enormous volumes of value across borders. Existing infrastructure requires months to complete transactions that the XRP Ledger completes in seconds. Aljarrah looked at that gap and said that Garlinghouse identified it. Then he named XRP as the solution already built for it.
