【US Stock Meme】rIREN: The miners are out. Now AI Cloud has to pass inspection
2026/09/08 08:14-
AI Cloud: bare metal + managed cloud. Customers include Microsoft, NVIDIA, plus Cohere, Perplexity, Figure AI, Fal.ai, Higgsfield, and an unnamed multi-year deal with a “leading frontier lab.”
-
Horizon clusters (Childress, Texas): four phases of ~50MW liquid-cooled IT load each, about 200MW in total, tied to the Microsoft 5-year / $9.7 billion cloud contract. Horizon 1 was delivered and accepted by Microsoft on August 13, and also received NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 Exemplar Cloud certification. Phases 2–4 are targeted for calendar Q4 delivery.
-
Software layer: Mirantis acquisition closed on August 4, adding managed cloud and orchestration.
-
Power pipeline: about 5GW of interconnection locked in (Childress / Sweetwater in Texas, Kiowa in Oklahoma, British Columbia, Bundey in Australia, Badajoz in Spain, and others). Delivery targets: about 0.3GW of IT load in 2026 and about 0.8GW of IT load in 2027 (company gross-capacity language is ~480MW in 2026 and ~1.2GW in 2027).
-
Bitcoin mining (exiting): as of June 30, about 23.2 EH/s and ~380MW. Q4 FY26 was the first disclosed quarter where AI Cloud revenue ( $70.5 million) beat mining ( $66.7 million).
-
FY26 revenue: $707 million (prior year $501 million). AI Cloud: $128.8 million (prior year $16.4 million, ~8x). Mining: $578.2 million.
-
Q4 revenue: $137.2 million. Adjusted EBITDA: $19.2 million. Q4 net loss: $684 million. FY26 net loss: $703 million, driven mainly by miner retirement and non-cash impairments (about $639 million for the full year, of which about $450 million was in Q4). Full-year adjusted EBITDA: $246 million.
-
Operating ARR: about $1 billion. Contracted ARR against 2026 capacity: about $4 billion (this excludes the ~$700 million NVIDIA cloud ARR that mostly ramps in 2027).
-
GPU financing: Microsoft-linked facility of about $3.65 billion, investment-grade, blended rate about 6%. Separate equipment financing of about $2.8 billion (including a Blue Owl / PIMCO-led tranche of about $2.4 billion at a fixed rate of about 9%).
-
Pricing is moving up. Management says recent 3-year deals are above $20 million per MW of IT load, and live discussions are near $25 million per MW.
-
2026 capacity is largely sold out. The company is moving from “renewable-powered mine” to “AI cloud operating system with its own power.”
-
Already done: Microsoft $9.7 billion contract; NVIDIA $3.4 billion cloud contract + Exemplar; Horizon 1 acceptance; Mirantis close; FY26 lift of 2026 contracted ARR to ~$4 billion; mining exit dated to year-end.
-
Current window (September): Horizon 2 commissioning; late-stage construction on 3–4; new-customer prepayments and $/MW pricing; mining capacity coming offline. This is the only hard tracking item between the annual report and the next quarter.
-
Next earnings: around November 5 after the close (Q1 FY27, quarter ended Sept 30). Street revenue is roughly $240–$290 million; EPS may still be negative. That print is the first report card on whether $1 billion of operating ARR is walking toward $4 billion.
-
In the sector, CIFR, CORZ, and NBIS trade as compute-infrastructure peers. Sentiment spills over. That is not a reason to stack two of them at full size.
-
Support: $40–$41 (post-print shelf / near the 50-day). Stronger support: $35 (Aug 28 low $34.81). Below that: $29 (July 29 low $28.93).
-
Near-term target if it holds: $49–$50 (Aug 13 intraday high $49.19). Above that sits the 52-week high near $77 — that needs a clear step-up in operating ARR.
-
Stop reference: a clean break of $35 reads as a sentiment giveback and a delivery-falsification tape. Do not hero-trade the 5GW pipeline story through that.

Trade the event — Horizon / customer-acceptance windows do not have to wait until the next US session
