Major Japanese electronics manufacturer Seiko Epson Corp. announced Wednesday that the company is set to receive a 109-million-dollar refund over the so-called reciprocal tariffs imposed by the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump.

In February, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the reciprocal tariffs imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act were invalid after concluding they were illegal.

The U.S. authorities have completed the review for the refund, Seiko Epson said. The company will reflect the refund and accrued interest in its financial results for the July-September quarter this year.

The U.S. authorities began accepting applications for refunds in April, and Seiko Epson applied in June. The total refund amount may increase in the future as the company has submitted multiple applications.
