Kazakhstan's August oil and gas condensate output rose 11% from July, source says
Reuters2026/09/03 07:44MOSCOW, Sept 3 (Reuters) - Kazakhstan's August crude oil and gas condensate production rose to 8.47 million metric tons, or about 2.06 million barrels per day (bpd), from 7.6 million tons, or 1.85 million bpd, in July, an industry source familiar with operational data told Reuters.
The increase was linked to more stable exports through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), the main route for Kazakh oil exports, the source said.
CPC Blend oil exports were severely disrupted in July by heavy drone strikes in the Black Sea region, weighing on Kazakhstan's oil output.
Oil production at the giant Tengiz field in August increased by 12% from July while output at Kashagan rose by 31% and production at Karachaganak climbed by 16%, the source said.
Tengizchevroil (TCO), the operator of Tengiz, does not comment on details of its production activities.
Kazakhstan's Energy Ministry and the operators of Kashagan and Karachaganak did not respond immediately to requests for comment.
Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov said last week that Kazakhstan had cut its 2026 oil and gas condensate production target to 96 million tons from 98 million tons because of export constraints via the CPC pipeline.
More than 80% of Kazakhstan's oil exports are shipped through the CPC pipeline system, which carries crude mainly from the Tengiz, Kashagan and Karachaganak fields to Russia's Black Sea coast.
CPC shareholders include the Russian state with a 31% stake, Kazakhstan with 20.75%, ChevronCVX.N with 15% and a number of private companies.
