Bank of Montreal Secures Regulatory Approvals to Repurchase Up to 25 Million Shares

05:54 PM EDT, 09/02/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Bank of Montreal (BMO) received approvals from the Toronto Stock Exchange and Canada's banking regulator to proceed with a normal course issuer bid to repurchase up to 25 million common shares, starting Sept. 8 and running until no later than Sept. 7, 2027, the company said late Wednesday. The shares represent about 3.6% of BMO's public float as of Monday, the bank said.
