03:19 PM EDT, 09/02/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were higher late Wednesday afternoon, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) increasing 0.4% and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) up 0.1%. In corporate news, Sirius XM (SIRI) shares rose 7.4% after Deutsche Bank upgraded the company's stock to buy from hold and raised its price target to $45 from $31.
