Google, Eos Energy, MN8 Energy Collaborate on West Virginia Clean Energy Project

08:37 AM EDT, 09/02/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Alphabet's Google (GOOG), Eos Energy Enterprises (EOSE) and MN8 Energy said Wednesday that they are collaborating to provide advanced clean-energy sources in Kanawha County, West Virginia. The companies said the project, which is owned and operated by MN8, combines 86 megawatts of utility-scale solar, 10 megawatts/100 megawatt-hours of Eos' Z3 zinc-based long-duration energy storage, and 70 megawatts/280 megawatt-hours of lithium-ion energy storage. The companies said the project is Google's first project that uses Eos' Z3 technology, and the first project under MN8's master supply agreement with Eos Energy. The solar facility is expected to begin commercial operations in 2028, followed by the lithium-ion storage system in 2029 and Eos' long-duration storage in 2030, the companies said. Shares of Eos Energy Enterprises were up 13.4% pre-bell.
