MediaTek plans to develop AI ASICs using both CoWoS and EMIB-T technologies.

According to reports, TSMC's CoWoS orders are fully booked until 2027, with some customers having to wait more than a year to receive their orders. As TSMC's supply bottleneck continues, Intel's new technology is attracting attention as an alternative solution. It is reported that MediaTek officially announced during its recent financial report conference call that it plans to simultaneously adopt CoWoS and EMIB-T technologies for large-scale development of artificial intelligence-specific integrated circuits (ASICs). Broadcom and Meta are also considering transitioning from CoWoS to EMIB to reduce costs, while Google and NVIDIA have also shown strong interest in EMIB-T.
