S&P Global US Final Manufacturing PMI Revised Higher in August, Unchanged from July Reading

09:58 AM EDT, 09/01/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The S&P Global US manufacturing index for August was revised higher to 53.9 from the flash reading of 53.2, compared with expectations for a smaller upward revision to 53.4 in a survey compiled by Bloomberg as of 7:40 am ET. The index is the same as in July, indicating expansion. S&P Global noted slower growth of demand and output, but stock building efforts continued. The ISM's manufacturing reading for August is due to be released at 10:00 am ET.
