KBR Wins $1.1 Billion Follow-On Contract for Weather Data Services

06:38 AM EDT, 09/01/2026 (MT Newswires) -- KBR's (KBR) Mission Technology Solutions business has won a follow-on contract from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Weather Service with a five-year ceiling value of $1.1 billion, the company said Tuesday. KBR will provide weather and related observational data from commercial, academic and research sources across the US, the company said. The contract runs from September 2026 through August 2031 and will support forecasting severe storms, extreme temperatures and other high-impact weather events, it added. KBR shares were up 5% in premarket activity.
