Anthropic signs another $35 billions computing power deal: joins forces with Nvidia (NVDA.US)-backed cloud provider Lambda to accelerate AI infrastructure development
Anthropic has reached a $35 billion computing power agreement with Lambda, a cloud service provider supported by Nvidia (NVDA.US).
According to Golden Ten Data App, sources have revealed that Anthropic has reached a $35 billion computing power agreement with Lambda, a cloud service provider supported by NVIDIA (NVDA.US), as part of its efforts to rapidly expand its artificial intelligence capacity.
The source stated that infrastructure company Hut 8 is developing the Texas data center involved in this project. Media had previously reported this agreement, noting that NVIDIA will hold the lease for the data center located in Nueces County, Texas.
This deal is the latest AI computing power agreement linked to NVIDIA, the world's highest-valued company and the leading provider of AI chips. The company has been leveraging its financial resources to expand access to computing infrastructure, which is expected to increase demand for its technology.
Meanwhile, Anthropic has become one of the most important clients for data center electricity. Last week, the maker of the Claude chatbot agreed to spend $45 billion to lease capacity from Nscale, located in West Virginia. In recent months, it has also signed a $50 billion cloud agreement with emerging cloud service provider Fluidstack Ltd., and a $45 billion cloud agreement with Elon Musk's SpaceX.
Lambda is currently negotiating to raise up to $3 billion in funding. According to sources, the company is discussing a valuation of $12 billion or more.
Lambda raised more than $1.5 billion in its November funding round. Last year, the company also reached an agreement with Microsoft to deploy AI infrastructure powered by tens of thousands of NVIDIA processors.
