01:33 PM EDT, 08/31/2026 (MT Newswires) -- UBS (UBS) can meet 50% of its new capital requirements with debt, Bloomberg reported Monday, citing a recommendation from the upper house of the Swiss parliament's Economic Affairs and Taxation Committee. Specifically, the panel recommended that UBS be allowed to meet half of the new requirements with convertible AT1 debt rather than the highest-quality equity, according to the news outlet. UBS didn't immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires. (Market Chatter news is derived from conversations with market professionals globally.
