The XRP Ledger has achieved a milestone as the stablecoin RLUSD saw its supply on the network exceed $1 billion, signaling significant growth within the ledger’s stablecoin infrastructure.
RLUSD stablecoin supply surpasses $1 billion on XRP Ledger
Rapid expansion of RLUSD and issued assets
XRPL Validator Vet, a recognized participant in the XRP Ledger community, underscored the RLUSD growth in a recent social media statement. Vet emphasized that the increase represents a notable leap from the network’s position two years ago, referring to the change as “night and day.”
RLUSD is a stablecoin created to maintain parity with the US dollar and operates within the XRP Ledger, an open-source blockchain designed for payments and digital asset issuance.
“Compared to two years ago, this is a night and day difference,” Vet noted, highlighting the network’s rapid advancements and the acceleration of its issued-asset ecosystem.
Vet described the crossing of $1 billion RLUSD in supply as a “tremendous” step for the XRP Ledger, reflecting the pace of change and maturity in its network architecture.
The issuance of RLUSD at this scale demonstrates heightened demand and growing confidence in stablecoins managed through the XRP Ledger’s infrastructure. Vet’s perspective placed this achievement within the broader trend of growth among various issued digital assets on the ledger.
Stablecoins diversify the XRP Ledger ecosystem
The advancement of RLUSD is not isolated. Vet highlighted several other stablecoins and digital assets gaining traction on the network, including Braza Bank’s USDB, Société Générale’s EURCV, Circle’s USDC, and Schuman Financial’s EUROP. Each of these assets brings additional currency and issuer variety to the ecosystem.
The inclusion of these stablecoins strengthens the XRP Ledger’s diversified digital asset environment, pushing activity beyond its native XRP token. EUROP’s relevance to P-DEX users was also emphasized, pointing to the ledger’s robust support for decentralized exchange functions.
Mini dictionary: P-DEX, or Peer-to-Peer Decentralized Exchange, refers to an on-chain trading platform within the XRP Ledger that enables users to swap issued assets without a central intermediary.
Vet’s comments reflected on the ledger’s ability to provide a foundational platform for trading and managing multiple stablecoins and digital assets, not solely XRP. This feature is enabled by the built-in decentralized exchange, a core element of the network.

XRP Ledger’s focus on issued assets
Vet described the XRP Ledger as a platform that “loves issued assets,” pointing to its decentralized exchange and infrastructure supporting asset issuance as central features.
Additionally, Vet referred to the XRP token’s role as a digital commodity within this ecosystem, supporting broader trading activities and network utility.
Vet linked RLUSD’s record supply to the expanding use of issued assets and stablecoins across the network, attributing growth not to one token but to the collective ecosystem’s development.
The XRP Ledger, developed as an open-source project, enables institutions and individuals to create, trade, and manage tokens, demonstrating flexibility in supporting a wide range of digital assets. The current $1 billion RLUSD supply marks a major achievement for both the ledger and its growing stablecoin sector.
