Vietnam pilots crypto asset market, with 5 companies having passed the initial assessment of cryptocurrency exchanges
ChainCatcher news, according to Vietnam News Agency, Vietnam is piloting the crypto asset market through a prudent regulatory framework, opening financing channels while strengthening investor protection. Government Resolution No. 05, issued in September 2025, specifies that crypto assets must be backed by RWA, excluding securities and fiat currency, and initially will only be issued to foreign investors. Currently, 5 companies have passed preliminary assessments by exchanges; they must meet Level 4 security requirements and provide a minimum capital of 10 trillion VND (approximately 383 million USD). Decree No. 284, issued in July, will impose penalties on unlicensed platform trading activities starting September 1. Domestic investors may trade only through licensed service providers six months after the first permit is granted by the Ministry of Finance.
