MT newswireMT newswire2026/08/28 12:33
08:33 AM EDT, 08/28/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Meta Platforms (META), Paramount Skydance (PSKY) and other companies with close ties to President Donald Trump are preparing for the possibility of Democratic scrutiny if the party regains control of the House in the 2026 midterm elections, The Wall Street Journal reported Friday. Some companies are forming internal task forces and hiring Democratic advisers to prepare for potential congressional investigations, including into their financial support for Trump and his political operations, the Journal reported. Meta recently gave $5 million each to Democratic-aligned nonprofits House Majority Forward and Majority Forward, the Journal reported. It also gave $5 million each to Republican-aligned groups American Action Network and One Nation, plus $10 million to a Trump-aligned political committee this spring. Paramount and Kalshi have also hired former Democratic aides, while Meta and Palantir (PLTR) executives and advisers have discussed the likelihood of facing requests for information, congressional hearings, and even subpoenas, according to the report, which cited people involved in the discussions. Meta Platforms, Paramount Skydance, Palantir, and Kalshi did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
