CIBC Wealth Business, Consumer Fees Drive Strong Quarter -- Market Talk
Dow Jones2026/08/27 11:520750 ET - Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce had solid quarterly results, driven by its wealth operations and consumer fees, says Keefe, Bruyette & Woods' David Konrad. The analyst notes CIBC saw good growth in Canadian personal and commercial banking and its U.S. commercial banking and wealth segment beat his expectations on fee and loan growth. Still, Konrad says CIBC's capital markets arm disappointed. And while trading and investment banking beat his forecast, trading net interest income was softer than anticipated. KBW has a market perform call and C$186 target on the shares. (robb.stewart@wsj.com)
