Nvidia (NVDA) shares were up 6.7% in Thursday's premarket activity after the company reported overnight fiscal Q2 earnings and revenue that more than doubled from a year ago, and a sales forecast for the next quarter that came in above market expectations. The company reported fiscal Q2 adjusted earnings late Wednesday of $2.22 per diluted share, up from $1.01 a year earlier. Analysts polled by FactSet expected $2.09. Revenue for the three months ended July 26 was $96.22 billion, up from $46.74 billion a year earlier. Analysts expected $92.27 billion. For fiscal Q3, the company expects revenue of $108 billion, plus or minus 2%. Analysts expect $104.86 billion. The company maintained its quarterly dividend at $0.25 per share, payable Oct. 1 to stockholders of record Sept. 10. From the analyst call, Vera Rubin is expected to account for about 20% of Q3 data center revenue, while 2028 revenue is preliminarily expected to grow about 70% year over year, with supply remaining a bottleneck through at least 2028. GAAP and non-GAAP gross margins are expected at 74% plus or minus 50 bps in Q3, bottoming at 71% to 72% in Q4 before settling at 72% to 73% in 2028 as price increases take effect.
