Turkey extends onion tariff concessions until the end of next January, sets sunflower seed import tariff at 12%

(1) A Turkish presidential decree shows that the preferential tariff policy on onion imports is extended until the end of January 2027, with the tax rate maintained at 5% (originally 49.5%). (2) The import tariff for sunflower seeds is set at 12%, applicable from January 1 to June 15 and from October 1 to December 31. (3) In July this year, due to onion prices exceeding 50 lira per kilogram, Turkey had reduced the tariff from 49.5% to 5%; this extension further stabilizes supply.
