CF Industries, partners break ground on $3.7 billion low-carbon ammonia plant in Louisiana

- Project outlines a USD 3.7 billion investment; ownership split 40% CF Industries, 35% JERA, 25% Mitsui.
- Start-up targeted for 2029; planned capacity of 1,400,000 metric tons a year, positioning it as the world’s largest ammonia plant.
- CF Industries also earmarked USD 550 million for shared infrastructure to support future ammonia output and fertilizer upgrades at the Blue Point complex.
- Plant designed to capture 98% of production CO2 for permanent sequestration; Linde plans more than USD 400 million for on-site air separation.
