Papa John's International Completes Refranchising of 28 Orlando-area Restaurants to Wade Oney

04:12 AM EDT, 08/26/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Papa John's International (PZZA) refranchised 28 Orlando-area corporate-owned restaurants to longtime franchisee Wade Oney and his affiliated entities, PZZA Group and Magic City Pizzerias, the company said late Tuesday. The restaurants were previously owned and operated by Papa Johns USA, supporting the company's strategy of refranchising corporate-owned locations to established franchisees, Papa Johns said. Oney and his affiliated franchise organizations now own more than 120 Papa Johns restaurants after opening 10 locations in Central and South Florida in 2025; he previously served as the company's chief operations officer for six years, according to the company.
