Disney CEO Says Streaming is Central to Company's Future -- Market Talk
Dow Jones2026/08/14 18:001400 ET - Disney's streaming service, Disney+, is central to the company's future, Disney's new CEO Josh D'Amaro says on CNBC. "We have streaming, and we have scale, so we have now all those direct-to-consumer relationships," D'Amaro says. "We can unify the data, from a technology perspective, and we can start to speak to consumers with one voice." He says Disney's streaming platform will be a "seamless guest experience" that boosts lifetime fan value and shareholder returns. "If we get streaming right, when we get streaming right--which we've proven we can--there's a ton of opportunity here," he says. Disney gains 1.4%. (elias.schisgall@wsj.com)
