0602 GMT - Novo Nordisk will face hurdles in 2H as rival Eli Lilly steps up competition in the obesity-pill market, Berenberg analysts say in a research note. U.S. approval for Lilly's rival Foundayo pill in diabetes seems imminent, which should heat up competition in 2H, the analysts say. Berenberg cuts its recommendation on Novo Nordisk to hold from buy, trimming its target price to 305 Danish kroner from 325 kroner. Shares in the Danish drugmaker already reflect higher expectations for its Wegovy weight-loss pill, the analysts say. Investors will likely want confirmation that Novo Nordisk can retain its leadership in obesity oral medicines while expanding in the injection market going forward, they add. Novo Nordisk shares closed at 307.20 kroner Tuesday. They are down 5.55% since the start of 2026.(adria.calatayud@wsj.com)
0559 GMT - E.ON's is well on its way to achieving its full-year adjusted net income target, Jefferies analysts Ahmed Farman and Arturo Murua write. The German energy company has achieved around 68% of the mid-point of guidance, which is 2.8 billion euros, they note. In the past 3 years, the company has on average earned around 1 billion euros extra over the second half of they year, they say. This means the upper end of its guidance of 2.9 billion euros looks well within reach, they say. Shares closed Tuesday at 19.02 euros.(adam.whittaker@wsj.com)
0551 GMT - Clariant's litigation risk has eased and the Swiss chemical company's earnings growth next year should allow share outperformance, Berenberg analyst Sebastian Bray writes in a research note. According to Bray, Clariant has two advantages over the diversified chemicals sector. First, the threat related to cartel litigation in Europe has become manageable after a recent Dutch court decision. Second is a recovery in catalysis alongside abating forex headwinds that should let Clariant generate good earnings growth in 2027, he says. Berenberg upgrades Clariant to buy from hold and raises the target price to 12 Swiss francs from 7.80 francs. Shares closed Tuesday at 10.04 francs. (sarah.sloat@wsj.com)
