According to the APP of Zhihu Finance, amid the ongoing slowdown in demand for electric vehicles, General Motors (GM.US) is further scaling back its battery manufacturing operations. On Tuesday, Korean battery manufacturer Samsung SDI announced it will terminate its battery joint venture agreement with General Motors in Indiana, USA, and acquire all shares held by General Motors, turning the plant into its first independent manufacturing base in North America.
