Daimler Truck Orders Take Shine Off Guidance Upgrade -- Market Talk
Dow Jones2026/08/07 11:091107 GMT - Daimler Truck's pre-released second-quarter numbers and guidance upgrade last month drove a solid share performance, but weaker orders announced Friday take the shine off the upgrade somewhat, Citi analysts write. Second-quarter orders are around 20% below consensus, which seems to be driven by weaker trading at Mercedes-Benz Trucks in India and Latin America, the bank says. Third-quarter margin guidance for Mercedes-Benz Trucks also seems weak, it adds. "Still the guide upgrade is still supportive of Street EBIT upgrades." Shares fall 3.6%. (dominic.chopping@wsj.com)
