Renault Results Solid Despite Growth of Chinese Automakers in Europe -- Market Talk
Dow Jones2026/08/03 07:520752 GMT - Renault printed a solid set of first-half results considering the widespread concerns about aggressive Chinese imports undermining pricing structures in Europe, Bernstein analysts write. Chinese brands achieved a 9.7% share of the Western European passenger car market in the period, up from 5.2% in the first-half of 2025. "We think Renault punches well above its weight, and offers one of the most credible counter narratives to that of the inevitable decline of European original equipment manufacturers." Bernstein rates Renault at outperform but lowers its price target to 40 euros from 43 euros. Shares rise 3.4% to 28.19 euros. (dominic.chopping@wsj.com)
