a16z Analyzes Investment Logic in Arc: $9 Trillion Stablecoin Market Drives the “Economic Operating System” to Reshape the Underlying On-Chain Financial Infrastructure
ChainCatcher reported that a16z Crypto published an article explaining its investment logic for Arc, stating that stablecoins have evolved from crypto trading tools into the core layer of global financial infrastructure, and are driving the upgrade of blockchain from “application layer finance” to a “system-level economic operating system.” Last year, the trading volume of stablecoins reached approximately $9 trillion, placing them on the same scale as global payment networks such as Visa and PayPal. The total supply of US dollar stablecoins has also exceeded $270 billion. Among the core use cases, cross-border payments, B2B settlements, and foreign exchange transactions are becoming increasingly central, gradually making stablecoins the “upgraded layer for global capital flows.”
a16z Crypto stated that existing blockchain infrastructure is still mainly oriented towards crypto-native users and individual developers, lacking native support for large institutional-level demands. The main reason for participating in the ARC token-related ecosystem is that, as global finance gradually moves on-chain, only a few public blockchains will be able to serve as the “foundational layer for on-chain economic systems” in the future.

Apple Rarely Signs 3-5 Year NAND Long-Term Contracts, May Not Set Price Cap; AI Squeezes Capacity, Shifting Bargaining Power in Storage
Apple is negotiating a 3-5 year long-term NAND flash memory contract with Kioxia, potentially without a price cap. This marks a shift in its procurement strategy from "lower prices and multiple sources" to "volume lock-in and long-term contracts." The change is driven by fierce competition among AI data center clients for storage capacity, forcing Apple to prioritize supply security. Pricing power for storage chips is shifting from buyers to sellers, and the duration of this storage cycle may exceed traditional market expectations.
