CFTC and SEC Enhance Collaboration on Prediction Market Regulatory Boundaries
BlockBeats News, May 10th, according to FOX reporter Charles Gasparino, the US CFTC and SEC are currently coordinating on the regulatory boundaries of the prediction market and recent suspicious trading activities related to the Iran conflict. Gasparino pointed out that although the industry believed this area was solely under the jurisdiction of the CFTC, when prediction contracts could be legally defined as "securities," the SEC would be heavily involved.
He also revealed that in addition to previously disclosed cases, regulatory agencies may launch more enforcement actions targeting the prediction markets in the future.
