Trade xyz crude oil positions plummet 59% week-on-week, while US stock contracts strongly compensate to keep overall positions at high levels
BlockBeats News, May 7 — According to Hyperinsight monitoring, trading activity in the traditional asset-mapping contracts deployed via the HIP-3 protocol on the Hyperliquid platform has increased, with daily trading volume rising by 30.4% week-on-week to $3.3 billion; open interest saw a modest increase of 4.78%, reaching about $2.21 billion.
It is reported that the structure of traditional asset open interest has shown differentiation. Due to the continued pullback in oil prices, WTI crude oil and Brent crude oil positions were heavily unwound, with combined open interest for both oils dropping 59% week-on-week to approximately $539 million.
Meanwhile, strong gains in US equities helped maintain high overall open interest. The S&P 500 index contract saw capital inflows along with the rise, with open interest climbing and ranking as the fourth largest contract by open interest on the Hyperliquid platform.
