Documentary in Search of Satoshi Nakamoto: Hal Finney and Len Sassaman May Have Been Co-Creators of Bitcoin
Odaily reported that the documentary "Finding Satoshi" was released on Wednesday, claiming that Bitcoin’s creator Satoshi Nakamoto is not an individual, but rather a pseudonym used jointly by cryptographers Hal Finney and Len Sassaman. Directors Tucker Tooley and Matthew Miele, after a four-year investigation, suggest that Hal Finney was responsible for writing Bitcoin’s code, while Len Sassaman wrote the textual content, including the white paper. Fran Finney, Hal Finney’s widow, acknowledged in an interview that her husband may have participated in the creation of Bitcoin. Investigators eliminated other candidates such as Adam Back through the process of elimination, and indicated that the online activity records of Hal Finney and Len Sassaman closely matched those of Satoshi Nakamoto. The film also includes a 90-minute interview with Sam Bankman-Fried, which was ultimately not used.
