AUD/NZD Forecast: Change in Momentum Highlights Potential for Bearish Turnaround
AUD/NZD Faces Bearish Reversal Amid Energy Price Decline
The AUD/NZD currency pair experienced a significant bearish reversal on Wednesday, retreating after failing to sustain gains above the 1.1250 level. This move came after an extended upward trend, suggesting that bullish momentum may be fading.
Although the New Zealand dollar found some support from the Reserve Bank of New Zealand’s more hawkish stance, the primary catalyst appeared to be the sharp decline in energy prices. This drop followed the extension of the Iran ceasefire, which effectively erased the favorable terms of trade that had recently benefited Australia over New Zealand.
If the downward trend in energy prices continues, traders may find opportunities for short positions. While AUD/NZD may not always be the most dynamic pair, it often provides consistent trends that appeal to swing traders.
