On June 21st, PANews reported that on June 20th, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of Nigeria continued its lawsuit against Binance and its executive Tigran Gambaryan for money laundering, which prompted a response from his wife Yuki Gambaryan. Ekele Iheanacho, the chief lawyer of EFCC, appeared in court during the lawsuit, allowing the cross-examination of Abdulkadir Abbas, the director of the country's Securities and Exchange Commission, to proceed. In a statement to the media, Tigran Gambaryan's wife Yuki expressed her confusion as to why EFCC could not follow the example of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) of Nigeria in releasing her husband. She also urged the US government to expedite his release.Earlier today, US political figures visited the detained Binance executives in Nigeria and urged the US embassy to lobby for their release.
