The number of new runes etched daily on Bitcoin has dropped to below 250
In the past six days, the number of new runes etched daily on Bitcoin has dropped to below 250, with 157 runes etched on Monday, a decrease of 99% from the peak at the end of April. According to Dune Analytics dashboard created by RUNES, between April 26 and 30, an average of 14,700 new runes were etched each day, with a record-breaking 23,061 runes etched on April 26. Since Runes was launched on April 20th, it has paid a total of $4.5 million in transaction fees to Bitcoin miners, about $189 thousand per day. So far more than 91,200 runes have been inscribed on Bitcoin.
