Vitalik Buterin proposes an alternative to EIP-3074, introducing a new type of transaction

Vitalik Buterin proposed an alternative to EIP-3074, introducing a new transaction type, EIP-2930 tx. This alternative also includes two new fields: the "contract_code" string and signature, which converts the signed account (not necessarily the same as tx.origin) into a smart contract wallet. This seems compatible with any 3074 workflow and requires little work to convert 3074 workflows. EIP-3074 also has an additional advantage of being highly forward-compatible with final account abstraction without overly retaining any granular details of ERC-4337 or RIP-7560.

 

Specifically, the contract code that users need to sign can actually be existing ERC-4337 wallet code without adding any operation codes. It also allows EOAs to temporarily convert themselves into contracts included in ERC-4337 bundles in a way that is compatible with existing EntryPoints.
