The launch date for the mainnet upgrade of Ethereum Dencun will be determined next Thursday

According to Cointelegraph, Ethereum developers plan to determine the mainnet launch date of the Dencun upgrade on next Thursday (February 8), which will introduce several EIPs, including proto-dank sharding expected to reduce Layer2 transaction costs.

 

In addition, Christine Kim, Vice President of Research at Galaxy Digital, stated that there is an 80% chance that the Dencun mainnet will be activated by the end of March. There's also a possibility for Dencun to go live by the end of February but she indicated this likelihood is quite small, close to 40%.
