According to the Snapshot governance page, the MetisDAO community has voted to decentralize the testnet sequencer and initiate a community testing proposal. The proposal aims to decentralize the infrastructure of the sequencer deployed on the testnet and start community testing to assist Metis developers in stress-testing new architectures.
