Grayscale: It is expected that GBTC will start trading as an ETF tomorrow

2024/01/11 02:52

The spot Bitcoin ETF issuer Grayscale announced on social media that we expect GBTC to start trading as an ETF tomorrow (January 11), marking a successful conclusion to over ten years of careful planning and hard work. In addition, Grayscale issued a risk warning: The Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (BTC) (hereinafter referred to as "the Trust") has submitted a registration statement (including a prospectus) to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for issuance related to this announcement. Before investing, you should read the prospectus in the registration statement and other documents submitted by the trust company to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for more complete information about the trust company and this issue. Foreside Fund Services is the marketing agent for this trust. Investing in this trust fund carries risks, including possible loss of principal. The trust fund holds bitcoin, but investment in it is not a direct investment in bitcoin itself. As an undiversified single-industry fund, stock value fluctuations may be greater than those invested in broader industries stocks. Severe volatility, regulatory changes, and risks from digital asset exchanges may affect Bitcoin's value which could subsequently impact the value of the Trust Fund.

Federal Reserve Chairman Walsh will speak at Jackson Hole on Friday, but he is expected to maintain his usual ambiguous style without giving clear signals on interest rates, making it difficult for the bond market to find directional guidance. Analysts believe that the real trading window may open on September 3, when Governor Waller will speak on the inflation outlook. At that time, there will be only two days left before the FOMC silence period, and his statements will carry significant market weight.
