Greeks.live: Today, a total of 11 billion US dollars in options expired and settled, which is higher than the total positions on last year's big settlement day
Adam, a macro analyst at Greeks.live, released the December 29 options delivery data on platform X: 178,000 BTC options are about to expire with a Put Call Ratio of 0.67 and the biggest pain point is $33,000 USD with a nominal value of $7.59 billion USD; 1.49 million ETH options are about to expire with a Put Call Ratio of 0.51 and the biggest pain point is $1900 USD with a nominal value of $3.47 billion USD. Today is the annual big delivery day, totaling $11 billion in option expirations which exceeds last year's total holdings on the big delivery day by $9.8 billion and more than double that time's annual delivery volume. The market always enters low volatility at the end of each year and this year is no exception but thanks to ETF expectations for next January, current overall IV levels are not considered low.
