Greeks.Live states that today is the annual big delivery day with a total of $11 billion in options due for settlement which is higher than last year's total holdings on the big delivery day at $9.8 billion and more than double the annual delivery volume at that time. At the end of each year, the market always enters into low volatility period but because an ETF is expected to be launched in January next year, overall IV levels are not considered too low currently.
