Infinex has introduced NEAR Chain Signatures and NEAR Intents, allowing its users to manage assets like Bitcoin, Dogecoin, and XRP directly through the platform. This move removes the need to operate distinct bridges or individual wallets for every blockchain, significantly simplifying cross-chain transactions.

Unified Cross-Chain Access

With this integration, Infinex leverages NEAR’s chain-abstraction infrastructure. This system enables applications to interact with multiple different blockchains via a single, unified interface. NEAR Chain Signatures deploy a multi-party computation network overseen by NEAR validators, authorizing transactions on external blockchains securely.

As a result, users can handle assets not native to a specific chain without interacting with the complexities underlying cross-chain actions.

Mini dictionary: NEAR Chain Signatures use a decentralized network of parties to jointly sign and authorize actions on other blockchains. This approach improves security and flexibility in cross-chain asset management by preventing any single party from controlling the process.

According to NEAR protocol documentation, NEAR Intents offers connectivity with 31 different blockchains and supports over 100 digital assets. The cross-chain settlement process typically completes in about 30 seconds.

NEAR’s mechanism employs “solvers”—automated services—which compete to execute users’ requests and route their transactions across networks. Instead of requiring individuals to select a bridge or execution path, users simply specify their desired outcome. The protocol then manages task routing and settlement in the background.

Examples detailed in NEAR’s bridging guides include transfers such as BTC to TON, XRP to Arbitrum, and DOGE to Base. These routes highlight the potential to bring assets from non-EVM chains into broader blockchain ecosystems via a single protocol layer.

This approach redefines Infinex’s integration as more than adding another bridge. It enables assets like Bitcoin, Dogecoin, and XRP to be accessible across a wider array of decentralized applications, broadening their usability within the blockchain space.

NEAR’s Strategic Shift to Cross-Chain Infrastructure

NEAR, a smart contract platform originally launched as a Layer 1 blockchain, is now seeking to establish itself as a universal execution layer and cross-chain infrastructure provider. The protocol describes its Intents network as a liquidity layer supporting wallets, DeFi platforms, and AI-driven agents, signaling a move beyond its origins.

The network claims more than $30 billion in total trading volume, spanning activity across 35 blockchains. NEAR’s approach aligns with a wider industry trend of minimizing user reliance on traditional, often complex bridge workflows in favor of seamless cross-chain operability.

NEAR highlights that its Intents network provides cross-chain settlement in around 30 seconds, connecting over 100 assets across 31 blockchains without requiring users to manage technical processes or select individual bridges.

With platforms like Infinex adopting these tools, NEAR aims to position itself at the forefront of cross-chain application development, offering a simplified experience for managing digital assets in multi-chain environments.
