Bitcoin is showing renewed strength after rebounding from the $76,500 level, with both technical indicators and on-chain metrics suggesting the cryptocurrency could be preparing for another attempt to push higher.

Key support and resistance levels

Crypto analyst Wealthmanager recently highlighted Bitcoin’s recovery after it reclaimed the $77,500 resistance level. This latest bounce follows a strong defense near the lower end of its current trading range, which many traders are watching closely.

If Bitcoin can consistently hold above $77,500, analysts believe it could clear the path to test the next resistance area at $80,000. Market participants see this as a significant milestone, given that Bitcoin has struggled to sustain momentum above the $80,000 mark in previous trading sessions.

The $77,500 level remains a crucial short-term price zone. Breaking out and staying above this range could strengthen Bitcoin’s recovery, while failure to maintain above it may put downside levels such as $76,500 back in focus. During the latest trading window, Bitcoin fluctuated between $76,400 and $76,700.

At the latest update, Bitcoin was quoted at $77,612, showing a 1.11% gain over the last 24 hours. Trading volumes reached $112.56 billion, with Bitcoin’s market capitalization standing at $1.56 trillion.

Technical momentum and on-chain signals

Beyond price action, on-chain movements are gaining attention within the crypto investment community. Analyst CryptoGoos pointed to potential momentum shift in Bitcoin, citing the MVRV Momentum Oscillator moving back above zero. This technical signal has marked key periods of rapid market appreciation in past cycles.

CryptoGoos reiterated, “The MVRV Momentum Oscillator is crossing back above zero. Every time this happened, the biggest leg of the bull market followed: 2012, 2016, 2019, and 2023. Miss this phase and you’ll miss the biggest gains of the bull market.”

The MVRV metric compares Bitcoin’s market value to its realized price, providing context on whether coins are held in unrealized profit or loss. Oscillator momentum above zero usually suggests emerging bullish conditions and potential expansion phases, but it does not guarantee similar price movements as in previous market cycles.

Mini dictionary: MVRV Momentum Oscillator – A market indicator that measures the difference between the market value and realized value of Bitcoin, often used to identify whether the average coin holder is in profit or loss and to gauge market cycles.

Bitcoin is now trading at $77,611, above its 50-day exponential moving average (EMA) of $77,080. The 100-day EMA currently stands at $73,353, while the 200-day EMA is at $73,028. These moving averages indicate a persistent bullish momentum as long as the price remains above these levels.

Indicator Current Value
Spot price $77,611
50-day EMA $77,080
100-day EMA $73,353
200-day EMA $73,028
Bollinger Bands (middle) $78,444
Bollinger Bands (upper) $80,970
Bollinger Bands (lower) $75,919

Potential price scenarios

The Bollinger Bands currently place Bitcoin’s middle line at $78,444, with the upper band at $80,970 and the lower band at $75,919. At present, Bitcoin’s price remains below the middle band, which indicates selling pressure continues in the short term. An upward break above $78,444 could provide additional momentum towards the $80,000 level.

To maintain bullish momentum, Bitcoin needs to stay above $77,500 and reclaim $78,444 before mounting a renewed attempt at the $80,000 to $80,970 resistance zone. Crossing above $80,000 may lead to increased interest from traders, given the strength of its recent recovery from lower levels.

On the downside, if Bitcoin fails to hold $77,500, support at $76,500 and $75,919 may be tested again. A loss of these levels could disrupt the current bullish trend and signal continued consolidation.

Holding above the $77,500 support level and a potential MVRV momentum reversal present an encouraging environment for bulls, but Bitcoin needs to push through key resistance points to confirm a new growth phase.

Bitcoin remains at a decisive junction, with recent price rebounds and improving on-chain conditions forming the foundation for optimistic forecasts. However, technical resistance zones and historical volatility highlight the need for careful monitoring in the coming trading sessions.
