⑴ Russia raises next year’s military spending target by over a quarter, abandoning its previous plan to stop increasing expenditures. ⑵ According to sources, the government’s new draft budget sets military spending for 2027 at 17.1 trillion rubles, 27% higher than the previous target. ⑶ The additional spending will raise next year’s budget deficit to 2.2% of GDP, compared to the previous target of 1.2%.
