Leading South Korean financial institutions and Ripple executives are set to gather at the XRP Seoul 2026 conference, scheduled for October 3 at the Grand Hyatt Seoul. The official speaker lineup now includes senior leadership from Woori Bank, Kakao Bank, Kyobo Securities, and Kbank, joining Ripple President Monica Long and RippleX Senior Vice President Markus Infanger for a program focused on institutional crypto adoption.

Major Korean banks to address XRPL adoption

Woori Bank will participate through senior manager Seunghoon Han, while Kakao Bank is sending manager Leo Lee. Kyobo Securities, a key player in South Korea’s investment industry, will be represented by Executive Director Heejin Shin. Kbank, one of the country’s leading digital-only banks, is sending digital-asset TF lead Jaehyuk Choi.

These speakers reflect Ripple’s growing institutional partnerships in South Korea, a region that is increasingly looking to blockchain for financial infrastructure modernization.

Among the key themes, institutional adoption of the XRP Ledger (XRPL) will take center stage, with discussions on asset tokenization, cross-border payments, and the future of institutional DeFi in Korea.

Kbank has actively collaborated with Ripple on blockchain solutions for overseas remittances, testing digital-asset platforms for efficient international transfers. Woori Bank and other institutions are also evaluating similar integrations, signaling growing interest in Ripple-powered payment technologies.

Expanding Ripple’s institutional footprint in Asia

South Korea is taking steps toward tokenized government bond settlement, exploring the use of Ripple infrastructure not only for cross-border payments but also for capital market systems. This pivot positions Ripple as a core provider of both payment and tokenization tools within the country’s financial sector.

Ripple is reinforcing its position in institutional tokenization through its Asian stack, notably by integrating solutions such as Ripple Custody and SettleMint. These partnerships grant licensed institutions regulated infrastructure for the issuance, management, and custody of tokenized assets.

Mini dictionary: RippleX, a division of Ripple, focuses on developing XRP Ledger (XRPL) infrastructure and ecosystem tools that support developers and institutions building on the XRP Ledger blockchain.

In-depth sessions on tokenization and DeFi

The conference agenda features a robust slate of panels and presentations intended for institutional audiences. One 30-minute panel will explore the traditional finance sector’s adoption of asset tokenization, followed by a session forecasting the future of tokenized assets. Another discussion is dedicated to institutional decentralized finance (DeFi) developed on XRPL technology.

Additional sessions will cover RLUSD and its role in cross-border payments, institutional XRP management, and projections for both XRP and the broader XRP Ledger ecosystem.

Program highlights include real-world case studies of blockchain-based payments and tokenized asset management, demonstrating Ripple’s expanding role across Asia’s regulated financial sector.

Institutions and regulators in the region are expected to gain first-hand insights into how blockchain solutions can drive modernization and reduce friction in traditional finance operations.

By bringing together Korean banking leaders and core Ripple executives, XRP Seoul 2026 is set to showcase the strides Ripple has made in building a comprehensive ecosystem for institutional blockchain adoption in Asia.
