04:46 AM EDT, 09/15/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Micron Technology (MU) is facing strike threats from a Taiwanese union representing company workers that is seeking a long-term, transparent and verifiable profit-sharing mechanism instead of one-off rewards, Reuters reported Tuesday. The union continues to demand that 15% of the US chip giant's operating profit be allocated to employees across the globe, according to the report. In the absence of "concrete proposal" in the coming days, the union will declare the negotiations have stalled and move towards a strike vote, the news agency reported, citing Jerry Lin, chairman of a union representing workers at Micron's operations in Taoyuan. The company didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment. (Market Chatter news is derived from conversations with market professionals globally.
