Hydro One Seeks Approval to Build North Shore Link Transmission Line in Ontario

06:40 AM EDT, 09/14/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Hydro One (H.TO) has filed an application with the Ontario Energy Board for approval to build the North Shore Link transmission line, the company said Friday. The 230-kilovolt North Shore Link will connect the Mississagi Transformer Station (TS) near Wharncliffe to Third Line TS in Sault Ste. Marie. The Mississagi, Algoma and Third Line TS will be upgraded to meet system requirements. The project represents an investment of CA$1.3 billion and is expected to begin service in 2029.
