Hedera’s native cryptocurrency HBAR continues to trade within a falling wedge pattern, with market participants closely monitoring for a potential shift in momentum. Persistent selling pressure has kept the price subdued, yet technical and fundamental signals offer reasons for caution—and possible optimism—among traders.
HBAR consolidates near $0.0730 as derivatives trading volume falls 7%
Technical outlook: Key support and mixed momentum
Crypto analyst Crypto With Gopal reported that HBAR is currently compressing near critical support at $0.07, forming a sequence of lower highs while defending its lower boundary. The falling wedge structure suggests that bearish momentum may be fading, even as the market remains under pressure.
A breakout above the upper wedge trendline is traditionally interpreted as a bullish reversal pattern, which for HBAR could open a path toward the $0.10–$0.20 range. Confirmation, however, remains crucial; without a decisive breakout, the risk of renewed selling persists.
Market volatility appears set to increase as HBAR approaches the wedge’s apex, prompting traders to watch for a clear move that could define the next trend.
Traders are monitoring HBAR’s consolidation at the wedge’s apex, as a breakout could signal a significant directional move, especially if confirmed by rising trading volumes.
HBAR recently formed a double top at $0.083 and has since experienced strong downward movement, with successive lower daily candles. The price currently sits below its 20-day moving average of $0.0755, recorded at $0.0746, a sign that sellers remain in control for now.
The token is also testing the lower Bollinger Band at $0.0730. Maintaining this level could be the first indication that bearish momentum is easing; however, failure to hold would likely intensify downward pressure.
Momentum indicators present a divided picture. The MACD line remains deeply negative at -0.001127, highlighting ongoing bearishness. At the same time, small green bars on the MACD histogram hint that downside momentum may be slowing, which could offer an early sign of strength for bullish traders.
If HBAR manages to defend the $0.0730 region and surpass the 20-day moving average, technical support for a rally would increase. A breakout supported by strong trading volume would lend further credibility to a bullish reversal.
Derivatives data: Cautious trading environment
Trading activity in HBAR derivatives has moderated in recent sessions. According to CoinGlass data, total trading volume declined 7.27% to $69.95 million, while open interest decreased 0.95% to $105.56 million.
| Derivatives volume | — | $69.95 million | -7.27% |
| Open interest | — | $105.56 million | -0.95% |
The simultaneous decline in both trading volume and open interest suggests that investors remain conservative, opting to stay on the sidelines pending a confirmed move. Should a breakout occur, the market could see an uptick in positioning as traders look to capitalize on the shift.
Market participants have reduced activity, with both volume and open interest down, signaling a wait-and-see approach until a clear trend emerges.
Fundamental partnership: RWA infrastructure
Hedera has strengthened its position in the real-world asset (RWA) sector through a recent partnership with Ownera, a firm specializing in digital asset infrastructure. The collaboration integrates Ownera’s FinP2P protocol with Hedera, aiming to deliver open multi-chain asset orchestration and a settlement layer focused on speed and finality.
Ownera’s FinP2P protocol facilitates seamless connections among institutions for tokenizing traditional assets, which can help elevate Hedera’s relevance in enterprise and institutional blockchain applications.
Mini dictionary: Ownera, a fintech company, develops infrastructure for tokenizing real-world assets. Its FinP2P protocol helps financial institutions securely manage and trade tokenized assets across multiple blockchain networks.
While recent technical patterns dominate short-term trading signals for HBAR, long-term optimism may draw on Hedera’s expanding foundation in the RWA space. For now, traders continue to focus on key support and resistance levels, awaiting confirmation from both chart patterns and trading volumes.
